Oru Nodi

Directed by Manivarman, ‘Oru Nodi’ is releasing in theaters today (April 26 – Friday). Produced by Madurai Alaghar Movies and White Lamp Pictures, the film is presented by producer Dhananjeyan.
Thaman Kumar, MS Bhaskar, Vela Ramamurthy, Pash. Karupaiah, Sriranjani, Karupu Nambiar, Deepa and others have acted. Sanjay Manickam has composed the music for the cinematography by KG Ratheesh. They present the horror and thrill of how an event that takes place in a second turns the entire life upside down.
Bhaskar runs a photo studio near Madurai. He takes a loan for his daughter’s marriage and is unable to pay it back. Somehow, when he was about to return the money, he disappeared with eight lakh rupees.
At that time a young woman named Nikita who lives in the same area is murdered. Inspector Thamankumar starts investigating these two cases. The pendulum game of who is the culprit or them begins…
In the end, the inspector identifies him as the culprit and arrests him.
The climax was definitely unexpected. Shocking. Taman Kumar as Police Inspector. He lived as an inspector with a smart style and a deep voice.
MS Bhaskar is acting normal as usual. The shame of not being able to pay back the debt, he envisions the old head of the family as a jovial chat with a friend. Gajaraj, who comes as his friend, also gives a natural performance.
Nikita, Alaghar, Sriranjini, Arun Karthik, Karupu Nambiar and others have also acted beautifully.
Vela Ramamurthy, fruit. Karupiah and Deepa Shankar, as always, give a slightly exaggerated performance, but are entertaining.
Vignesh Aditya, who is playing the role of a saloon keeper, also gives a natural performance.
Sanjay Manickam’s music and songs are special. The background music is also impressive.
Lyrics by Jagan Kaviraj, Sivashankar and Udaya are delightful. Cinematography by KG Ratheesh adds strength to the film.

The sound design is absolutely fantastic. Especially in the interrogation scene at the police station, the sound recording of another interrogation taking place in the next room is amazing as if we were listening from our seats. For this experience, the movie ‘Oru Sod’ is a must-see in the theatre. They have given a true crime story without heroism.
Kudos to debutant director P.Manivarman for making the film enjoyable for all without violent obscenities.
