The story is about a 19-yr old boy Vijay Sankeshwar, who embarks on a journey with vision and dreams.Vijay works in his dad’s printing press and takes it to the next level. But he is not happy with his personal growth and starts a transport business. He faces so many issues in this process and goes to the next level. In his journey, he takes up politics, and even starts a newspaper taking on the who’s who in the business. How he achieved so much in life is the story of the film.‘Vijayanand’ traces the major events in the life of a man hailed as a trendsetter and a visionary and presents the definitive moments of his career in an inspiring manner.Condensing the developments that took place over a period of six decades in the life of a man, who literally ruled three fields — Logistics, Media and Politics, and presenting it as a film that is just two-and-a-half hour long must have been quite a challenge. But to Rishika’s credit, she seems to have done a neat job, with the story moving seamlessly at a brisk pace from start to finish. The story narrates how Vijay Sankeshwar, who hails from a small town called Gadag in Karnataka, revolutionised the printing industry by bringing in the semi-automatic printing machine Victoria before choosing to enter the lorry business in which he had no experience whatsoever. From there, it goes on to show how he started off with one truck and how he now has established a group that has over 5,600 trucks! The film also shows in detail what prompted Vijay Sankeshwar to enter the media industry first and the strategy that helped his two publications — one each in Kannada and English — to reportedly emerge market leaders.Usually, A-league stars are preferred for roles based on real-life characters, but the director has opted for someone out of the box. In precise terms, actor Nihal leaves everyone speechless with his perfect show. Maybe during the initial moments, we might not be gelling up with his character, but sooner, as he gets into the mid-age portions, we become his fan. The other actors like Bharath Bopanna and Anand Sankeswar turn out to be the pillars of this movie. Anant Nag is a genius, and he nails it down perfectly as a humble parent. Ravichandran plays a cameo, and his presence adds more substantial to the script. The variety in his looks was missing, as was his body language. On a personal note, I am not really sure if Vijay sir could have had so many action fights in his Life and he could be so angry. I met him during the promotions of this film, and he was such a sweet person to talk to. Can’t believe that he was so tough against his rivals, as shown in the film. No offence to Nihal, Anyway, his performance is decent, has more potential. Siri Prahlad looks a traditional beauty in every scene she has. Anant Nag is too underwhelming for his high stature
