Vettaiyan Rajini Claims Another Crown

Vettaiyan Rajini Claims Another Crown

The highly anticipated film Vettaiyan, which was eagerly awaited by fans, has been released today and has drawn significant attention. The film's greatest strengths are its screenplay and story, making them the movie’s core pillars. If asked whether this is a typical "Superstar" film, one must say that it is truly a director's movie. However, that doesn’t mean the Superstar's presence is lacking in any way.Directed by Gnanavel, who also directed Jai Bhim, this film also conveys a strong and deep social message. He has brilliantly depicted the controversies surrounding police encounters and the mishaps involved in NEET coaching, highlighting them with great finesse. Let’s take a look at the cast of the film Vettaiyan. Starring Rajinikanth, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rithika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Abhirami, and Rana, among others, the movie features music by Anirudh and is directed by T.J. Gnanavel. This film has been produced by Subaskaran on behalf of Lyca Productions.

In Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth plays a top-tier encounter specialist. The police department holds the belief that any encounter conducted by him is always justified. He is stationed in Kanyakumari, where Dushara Vijayan’s character tips off the police about a gang hiding drugs in a school. Rajinikanth praises Dushara’s courage, and she gains his admiration. Dushara, with dreams of pursuing higher studies and becoming a teacher, moves to Chennai.

In Chennai, she uncovers fraudulent activities in a NEET coaching center. A mysterious gang murders her as a result, but the blame falls on an innocent person. Rajinikanth, unaware of the truth, mistakenly conducts an encounter on this innocent individual. This is where Amitabh Bachchan's character steps in, pointing out the wrongful encounter. Amitabh’s character shows how the wrongful encounter impacts a mother and daughter, and he takes on the case again to seek justice for them.

As the investigation deepens, the truth about how NEET coaching services, specifically the National Testing Agency (NTA), deceive people begins to surface. The story reveals that the NEET coaching center is run by a powerful, wealthy businessman named Rana. His influence, both financial and political, makes him untouchable. Many families and hundreds of students have been affected by his actions. The rest of the story focuses on how Rajinikanth’s character seeks revenge and justice against Rana and the corrupt coaching center.

In Vettaiyan, Rajinikanth once again dazzles us with his mass action style, even at this stage of his career. His performance leaves us in awe, and it’s clear that age hasn’t dimmed his ability to command the screen. What’s especially commendable in this film is how he seamlessly fits into the role as an actor under the director’s vision, showing that he’s still willing to adapt and evolve. It feels like his style and appearance are getting younger and more energetic with each passing year, and his remarkable acting and iconic style shine throughout this movie.

Another major strength of the film is Fahadh Faasil, who plays Rajinikanth’s assistant. Fahadh impresses in every scene he’s in, and his presence adds to the enjoyment of the film.

Manju Warrier, playing Rajinikanth’s wife, once again proves her mettle as a talented actress, as she has in many films before. Especially in Tamil cinema, she has been getting well-rounded, significant roles, and her performance in Vettaiyan is no exception. She delivers a fantastic portrayal of her character, contributing beautifully to the narrative.

Dushara Vijayan is undoubtedly one of the top actresses in Tamil cinema today, and she definitely ranks among the top ten. We were already amazed by her performance in Sarpatta Parambarai, and once again, in Vettaiyan, even with a smaller role, she delivers such a powerful and memorable performance that it leaves a lasting impact. Her portrayal is filled with emotion and depth, proving her immense talent once more.Ritika Singh, who plays an Assistant Commissioner, marks a strong comeback with this film. She has completely embodied the role with a powerful presence, and her performance is outstanding. Her look and demeanor perfectly suit the authoritative role of an Assistant Commissioner, making her character believable and impactful. The entire cast has delivered commendable performances, fully understanding their respective roles. Especially noteworthy is Rana, who has portrayed a villain formidable enough to stand toe-to-toe with Rajinikanth. His performance as the antagonist adds a thrilling dynamic to the film, making him a solid match for Rajinikanth’s heroism.

One of the greatest strengths of the film is undoubtedly Anirudh's background score. Every time Superstar Rajinikanth appears on screen, Anirudh’s music elevates the scene, creating an atmosphere of grandeur and excitement. The songs have already become hits, as we all know, but his background score adds even more power to the film’s narrative.

Director T.J. Gnanavel once again proves himself as a remarkable filmmaker with Vettaiyan. Despite having Rajinikanth in the film, he resisted making a typical masala movie and instead stayed true to his unique style, blending a strong social message with the Superstar’s presence. Gnanavel has conveyed a deep, thought-provoking message while ensuring the film is still a Rajinikanth-starrer that fans will love. His ability to craft a socially conscious story without losing the essence of mass entertainment is commendable.

Overall, Vettaiyan is an excellent experience for theatergoers, delivering both an engaging film and an exhilarating "hunt" for Rajinikanth fans.
