Trauma

Mari Muthu, an auto driver, has a daughter who falls in love with a young man. The man leaves her pregnant and disappears. Upon learning about their daughter's situation, Mari Muthu's family becomes distressed. Similarly, a rowdy threatens Vivek Prasanna, demanding 50 lakh rupees over an obscene video of his wife Santhini. An unexpected incident occurs when Vivek Prasanna brings the money, shocking everyone, including him. What happened, and who is behind all this? The movie "Drama" answers these questions.

"Drama" signifies impact. The story describes the impact on various characters.

Director Thambidurai Mariappan crafts this story as one of three families, eventually showing their interconnection at the end. It's almost like an anthology-style narrative. Vivek Prasanna debuts as the hero. Despite being the protagonist, he lacks the typical cinematic hero build-up. He plays an impotent husband who regrets hiding it from his wife. Unexpectedly, his wife Santhini becomes pregnant, which is humorously depicted in the movie.

After auto driver Mari Muthu's demise, the film was released. Another person provided the dubbing for him, yet his realistic performance remains memorable.

Pradosh and Anand Nag have played roles of those who commit fraud while appearing to be good guys.

Santhini, introduced as a heroine in director Bhagyaraj's film, now stars as Vivek Prasanna's pair. It's unclear why, like Urvashi and Ambika, Bhagyaraj's protégés, she couldn't secure a significant place. To sustain her career, she needs to select lively roles or those that impress with sharp dialogues.

Inspector Sanjeev appears at the story's conclusion to wrap things up.

Produced by S. Uma Maheswari, with a soundtrack by R.S. Raj Prathap, where Chinna Kuyil Chitra's lullaby is a pleasant listen after a long gap.

Cinematographer Ajith Srinivasan tries to captivate with the portrayal of a certain environment.

Though many stories about women's lives getting ruined due to obscene videos have been told, awareness seems insufficient, as such news is still common today. Although directed by Thambidurai Mariappan, this movie has a similar story but is necessary to be told.

Drama – A warning for young women.
