TEN HOURSĀ

TEN HOURS

A story that unfolds over 10 hours in a single night...

Sibi Raj works as a police officer in Attur, Salem, alongside another officer named Gajaraj. As Sibi prepares to visit Sabarimala the next day, he faces a challenging murder case for investigation.

When a father comes to file a complaint about his missing daughter, Sibi spends that night searching for the kidnappers. In the process, the kidnapping gang shoots and kills three police officers.    Additionally, a man named Jeeva (Raj Ayyappa) is found murdered on a bus traveling from Chennai to Coimbatore.Despite questioning all the bus passengers, Sibi struggles to find answers. How did someone get murdered on a moving bus when no passenger escaped? Who killed him? How did Sibi identify the culprits? Is there any connection between the missing girl and the murdered bus passenger? The rest of the film explores these questions

There are no songs, no romance, no heroine - yet the protagonist Sibi Raj stands tall in his character. He portrays both a peaceful devotee heading to Sabarimala and a responsible police officer with intensity in his guest role. Gajaraj excels in voice-over narration throughout most of the film. His voice effectively drives the story forward.

Raj Ayyappa appears as Jeeva, a smart young man who becomes the pivot of the story. Adukalam Murugadas, Jeeva Ravi, Diliban as the villain, and others make significant contributions to the narrative. Charumisha captivates with her beautiful performance.

The film is directed by Ilayaraja Kaliyaperumal. Despite being a one-night story, he presents it as an engaging thriller without making it boring.  Jai Karthik handles cinematography beautifully - capturing scenes on a bus for half the story, at the police station for the remainder, and night-time highway journeys - all presented vividly to match the thriller's pace.

Music composer K.S. Sundramoorthy delivers an impressive background score that matches the story's tempo. Even though the music repeats, it continues to echo in our ears even after leaving the theater. We've heard about kidnappings using changed license plates in cars and trucks. Here, director Ilayaraja Kaliyaperumal tells a story with many twists, including two buses traveling with the same license plate, while also incorporating political elements. The director plants a social message: a candidate will do anything to win a political election, and people need to remain vigilant.

In summary, these "10 Hours" are truly thrilling hours.
