A young man (Satya) leaves his mother alone in the village and comes to Chennai to work in a private company. Driven by greed for money and women, he becomes involved in illegal activities such chain snatching, threatening with knives, and robbery. In one such incident, a young woman dies. Without evidence, he escapes. However, the woman's father decides to kidnap and kill the person who murdered his daughter. Unexpected twists occur next, and the climax answers this with exciting turns.
Satya plays the role of the chain-snatching thief in Metro. He impresses with his innocent-looking face but shocking actions.
With just a mask on his face, Satya gets ready to make a scene by pulling the dupatta of a woman riding a two-wheeler, causing her to float in the air and fall to the ground. Without any mercy, he steals her jewelry and cuts the earring from her ear, which is brutal.
In the film, Satya is portrayed more as a villain rather than a hero. Similarly, there is no specific heroine. Metro focuses on negative characters, setting up a unique storyline, as crafted by the director Ananda Krishnan.
Jayaprakash takes on a different role. Deepa Sankar gives an unexpected shock. Danny's villainy is different. In the end, the duplicate villain Sendrayar becomes a comedic piece. Kuber adds humor.Even though Kavitha S. from Impress Films and Anand Krishnan from Metro Production produced it commercially, their attempt to deliver a good message is commendable.
Johan Shivenesh's music enhances the scenes. N.S. Udhayakumar's camera work captures the crime thriller's mood in perfect proportion. Ananda Krishnan's story and screenplay focus not only on solving a murder but also on raising awareness about women and emphasizing the need for 100 percent CCTV camera coverage in the city, something the government should take note of. Despite shifting scenes, the editor's neat editing ties the story together coherently.
Debut director S.M. Pandi directs scenes skillfully, capturing attention like an experienced director.
The climax of the film might even become a topic of discussion.
Robber – A must-watch movie. Especially, a must-watch for women.
