Sundaram (Muruga Das), who owns a cell phone repair shop, is dependent on his daughter Kanmani (Pratiksha). Whatever the daughter asks for, she buys it without saying no. One day Kanmani goes to her school friend’s house and sees his bungalow and asks her father to buy her a similar bungalow. Because she wants something, Sundaram also asks her to buy it and bothers her every day. Unable to resist his daughter’s stubbornness, Sundaram runs away. The film gives a sentimental answer to what happened in the end.

Every now and then such small budget films with great story elements steal the heart and Raja Magal also belongs in that list.

A simple script such as a school, a terraced house, some characters and a father-daughter love struggle occupies the mind a lot.

This drag continues till the climax. A sudden happy ending cuts the tension in half when you’re expecting some sort of wild climax.

Velina Played as the mother of baby Pratiksha makes a mark in her calm performance as a middle-class mother.

As a friend of Murugadoss, Buck’s advice to Muruga Das is one hundred words of advice to bring up children by telling them whatever they can. It would have been highlighted if he had said it in a more emphatic way.

Music director Shankar Rangarajan and cinematographer Nikki Kannan have done their work with scale without worrying about showing off their talent and giving importance to the visuals.

Director Henry Joseph’s taken meaning full But it can be done by a middle-sized house, so it can be trusted. The bungalow dream is a bit over the top. But he has taught the loving fathers a perfect lesson.

A film to watch as a royal family.
