Paramasivan Fathima

Film: Paramasivan Fathima

Religious conversion incidents occur frequently in that area, leading to regular conflicts between two communities. Due to these incidents, mysterious murders take place. Police set up camps in the area to investigate these murders. Despite heavy security, the killings continue. At one point, it becomes clear that these murders are being committed by two spirits. The climax provides the answer as to why this is happening.

The story discusses Hindus being converted to Christianity. No film has ever spoken so openly about religious conversion and religious conflicts - even media and newspapers are not allowed to discuss this topic in such a manner. It's quite surprising how the censor board allowed this film to openly discuss religious conversion and religious conflicts. The director's ability to bring such scenes without any cuts can also be called his cleverness.

Vimal and Saya Devi have acted as vengeful spirits. Such spirits are being seen in cinema for the first time - they cook food and buy vegetables. Such scenes appear somewhat comedic.

Vimal directly chasing away M.S. Baskar, who comes to convert people, appears to incite religious conflict. At one point, when priest M.S. Baskar applies kumkum and blesses as if he has converted to Hinduism - it's unclear whether this represents religious harmony or religious conversion signs. Ultimately, director Ishakki Karvannan conveys the message that all gods are one.

Deepan Chakravarthy has composed the music. Rather than saying it's music in Raja's style, it would be more accurate to say he has used the same music. M. Sukumar's camera work is comforting as it doesn't frighten despite being a ghost/spirit film.
