Merry Christmas is a movie directed by famous Bollywood director Sriram Raghavan and starring Vijay Sethupathi, Katrina Kaif, Radhika Apte, Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmukharajan and Gavin Babu. Madhu Neelakandan has done the cinematography for the film. Pritam has composed the music.
The story takes place in Mumbai. Actress Katrina Kaif is living separated from her husband. Vijay Sethupathi is serving 7 years in jail for killing his girlfriend. They both meet randomly on Christmas night and introduce themselves. Katrina has a 3-year-old daughter. Leaving their daughter to sleep at home, Katrina and Vijay Sethupathi roam around outside.
After some time, when he comes to Katrina's house, Katrina's husband has been shot and killed. Both are shocked by this. What happened after that is the rest of the story of the film. The story starts slow like a train engine but picks up speed after the interval.
Vijay Sethupathi's performance and Katrina's performance is a milestone. Both have acted in competition with each other.
Thiagaraja Kumararaja's dialogues have helped the film immensely. Although the story takes place in one night, the director has taken us to the edge of the ticket by giving as much interest as possible.
Vijay Sethupathi has played a very difficult character to be accepted by the Bollywood film industry with great fun.
Music and cinematography are very supportive of the film.The twist in the second half is something that no one expected. The pacing of the screenplay creates a lot of excitement in the second half.
