Memories

Vetri is a budding actor who starred in films like 8 Thotakal, Jeevi, Vanam and more. The movie “Memories” in which he played the hero is made in the style of psychology-thriller. Malayalam director named Shyam has directed the film. The film has music composed by Gavaskar Avinash. Actor Ramesh Tilak has played the lead role.In the TV show Memories, a person he knows comes to share his experience with memories in his life, the hero. He says that incident in the life of Venki. The story moves in flashback.Hero Vetri wakes up in a dilapidated house with a blow on his head. His shirt is stained with blood and he doesn’t remember who he is. He finds out from his captor that he is the killer wanted in a double murder case. Thus, he asks the person who has locked him up, “Who am I and why are you locking me up..” Instead, “You have 17 hours to figure out who you are. But you won’t be alive after finding out like that,” adds the twist, the mystery person. The police chase the hero who wanders in the thick forest in search of who he is, and the hero who escapes from them is caught at gunpoint by RNR Manohar “I told you to kill only my wife…what have you done to my daughter?” He asks. What is happening around the hero? Was he really the one who committed the murders? What is the connection between the hero and the people chasing him? The screenplay moves towards layered questions like.

Memories is a double role not only for Hero, but also for the characters around him. Kudos to the director for making a good film with the same concept of memory erasing and memory inserting. But his attempt ended in failure. A lot of time-travel and psychological thrillers coming out now have a story within a story. But there is a limit to the stories that are inserted into the film. In this film, they have crossed that limit. Hero Vetri, who is first shown as a normal young man, then loses his memories and becomes a murderer? Are you good? He gives a good performance as a man who does not know that. The twist that followed was unexpected. But then they put something in the name of “surprise twist” and somehow ended a good story that didn’t know how to end. Rather than a complicated story, it would be more logical to call it a very confusing story.Vetri, the hero of the film, has carved the role given to him very well. However, he has tried and failed to do something other than his usual performance in love scenes and psycho villain scenes. Ramesh Tilak fits the role of the friend-police officer. Parvathy, who has entered the field as a heroine, is left with no job to act in a big way.

After watching the trailer and thinking “Aha ”, the screenplay is slapped on the face of the movie fans. The scenes where the hero runs into the forest could be trimmed a bit more. A good one-line story is preserved in the second half. We could see the reviews saying that we watched the second half before the break, wondering when we would run out after the film.

The climax of the film also tests the mettle of the patient. The second half lacked the pace and intelligence of the first half. Although an edge-of-the-seat psycho-thriller, Memories is a story that doesn’t make you jump out of your seat.
