96 was a hit after the release of the film, and many re-union stories followed. But the reason they are not boring is because they stir up the school memories that everyone has. Director Rakko Yogendran has given such a re-union here. But what makes this film stand out is that it's not just a regular reunion and finds a surprising dimension to it. This is also a story about 90s kids. Raksan, Deena, Prank Star Rahul, Melina, who complete their schooling in 2008, after finishing college, go to other jobs. In this case, the court has ordered them to write the exam again after the verdict of the private school which was a competitor of the private school where they were studying had been filed in 2008 saying that the school where they had studied for malpractice. So the story goes that all these people come back to school and study for three months and take the exam. The crux of the story is whether Raksan, who had become Murali without telling her that he had fallen in love with Melina when he had already completed his finals in the meantime, had told her now.

Following Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan, Raksan's student period and adolescence are easily matched. But to progress to the level of his predecessors, he needs to mature more in acting.
Deena comes in a comedic role as his friend and mixes it up throughout the film.
Prank Star Rahul is a comedy in the first half and serious in the second half. The game he plays with that body is amazing.

Melina, Aashika, Natalya, Shweta who played the role of students have given excellent contribution.
Muneezkanth, who comes as the PD master, is initially into comedy and later into character acting. His accounting of the accounting teacher Akila and the scenes that follow are melting.
Cinematographer Gopi Duraisamy is there to make the scenes natural. In Sachin Warrier's music, the songs and background music are youthful.

Overall it sits as a Romantic film but lacks resilience compared to other films that have come out so far. Asathi could have been more apt in the screenplay by interweaving the events of his school days.

However, it is a good thing that it has come as an item to enjoy once.
