"Kudumbasthan" - A Tale of Middle-Class Struggles and Emotions
Directed by Rajeshwar Kalisamy, Kudumbasthan stars Manikandan, Saanvi Meghna, R. Sundararajan, and a talented ensemble cast. The story follows Manikandan, a simple middle-class man who marries Saanvi Meghna, a woman from another community, defying societal norms. Life takes a challenging turn when he loses his job but hides it from his family, leading to financial struggles and personal conflicts.
Manikandan delivers a stellar performance, particularly in emotionally charged scenes that resonate deeply with the audience. Saanvi Meghna and the supporting cast, including R. Sundararajan and Guru Somasundaram, offer strong portrayals that add depth to the narrative. The film effectively mixes comedy and drama in the first half but slows down in the second, resembling a soap opera at times.
The cinematography is a highlight, while the screenplay and background score support the narrative. Despite some pacing issues, Kudumbasthan serves as a relatable depiction of middle-class struggles, symbolizing the emotional and financial burdens faced by many. It captures the essence of a middle-class man's life and his sacrifices with authenticity and heart.
