Kingston

In the region inhabited by fishermen living by the sea, some ghost stories prevail. It is said that if anyone goes fishing into the sea, they never return and die there. The belief that ghosts kill them keeps people in the area frightened. As a result, no fishermen dare to go to the sea, and they take up other jobs in the locality. In this scenario, a young man named Kingston (G.V. Prakash) living in the fishing area claims that the notion of ghosts in the sea is just a myth. He tells others not to believe it and decides to prove it by going into the sea to catch fish himself, taking some others along with him. Once they reach the middle of the sea, a shock awaits them. The sea is filled with human skeletons, and upon seeing this, Kingston and his companions are horrified. As time passes, a ghostly display begins in the sea. The ghosts directly attack Kingston's group on the boat. Did they escape from that attack or fall victim to the sea ghosts? The movie Kingston provides the answer.

This is entirely a sea fantasy horror film. G.V. Prakash has acted in a distinctive role. Upon heading into the sea to slay the sea ghost and return, G.V. Prakash takes the audience along with him into the sea. Turbulent sea waves that create a feeling of the sea entering the cinema hall, raging ghosts, and spiraling storms impress with the visuals.

Amidst the thousands of human skeletons floating in the sea, G.V. Prakash's boat gets caught, with the companions who see the floating skeletons freezing in astonishment and panic, while ghosts with sharp teeth attack G.V. Prakash and his companions, stirring tension.

The climax thrillingly answers the questions of how the ghosts came into the sea, who is responsible, and whether the ghosts in the sea are destroyed.

Divyabharati plays the heroine. Chetan and Alagan Perumal have acted in unique roles.

The second half of the film is entirely shot in the sea with VFX and graphics scenes meeting Hollywood standards.

Cinematography by Gokul Benoy is commendable. If the film is 50%, the music is 50%, says composer G.V. Prakash.

Director Kamal Prakash brings a different sea horror fantasy film.
