VijaySethupathi in “Kavan”

KV Anand has once again proved that he can come out with a different script to woe audiences. This time around his focus is media.
So how much can a newspaper or a TV channel disseminate knowledge ?. How sensible and caution are they in showing news to the people ?. What is their actual role and what they really do is the crux of the Kavan.
KV Anand has managed to answer most of these questions through this flick.
The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Madonna Sebastian in lead roles. Vikranth, T Rajendar, Pandiarajan, Jagan and Akashdeep Saighal in pivotal roles.

Thilak (Vijay Sethupathi) wants to become a popular host. On the way for a job interview he comes across a riot and he shoots it. Little does he know that this riot was engineered by the channel owner (Akash Deep Saigal) against a local politician Dheeran (Bose Venkat). But, it lands him a job in the same channel where his college sweetheart Malar (Madonna Sebastian) is working. He tries to get back to her.

Abdul (Vikranth) and his lover conduct agitations against a biochemical factory owned by Dheeran and backed by the channel head. Abdhul’s lover is killed by them and this irks Thilak, who jumps the script while doing a one-on-one interview with a politician. This results him in getting beaten up and fired out.

On the other hand, T Rajendar, manages an almost rundown channel that proves to be no good. How Thilak, Malar and TR join hands and expose the gongs forms the rest of the story.

Vijay Sethupathi steals the show with his acting skills. He is flesh and blood of the flick. Madonna doesn’t have much to play in this film although she is present through the flick.
Soundtrack and score by Hiphop Tamizha is good. The background score is worth mentioning.
First half is better than second half. Started as a different action story, after interval the story moves as an usual action flick.
Actors – Vijay Sethupathi, Madonna Sebastian, T. Rajendar, Pandiarajan, Vikranth, Akashdeep Saighal, Bose Venkat, Jagan, Five Star Krishna and others.
Director – K V Anand
