The people of Chennai City and 4 Districts were put to untold sufferings due to unprecedented heavy rains and the consequent flood. To mitigate their sufferings, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai has been distributing essential relief materials for the last 40 days.
Today, on the occasion of the Birthday of Swami Vivekananda (Jan. 12), the Math distributed utensils to 600 families living on the sea shore in Srinivasapuram and Foreshore Estate.
From 3rd Dec. 2015 till first week of Jan. 2016, the Math has distributed in different areas of Chennai city and some specific areas in Cuddalore District, relief materials worth Rs.1,52,00,000/-.
In Chennai & Cuddalore, 1,34,844 persons belonging to 38,000 families benefited by the relief work undertaken by the Math, according to the Manager, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai.
