Filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran’s directorial next featuring Prabhu Deva has been titled as ‘Bagheera’. With this unique title instantly capturing our interests and at the same time creating an inquisitiveness to know what it is all about, Adhik Ravichandran describes its relevance with the script. He says, “Bagheera is a fictional character of Black Panther from “The Jungle Book’, who happens to be a close friend to Mowgli. Similarly, Prabhu Deva sir’s role will be very much identical to this character, which will do anything to protect and destroy impulsively without any second thoughts. I thank Dhanush sir for his adorable gesture of releasing the film’s first look and title. Bagheera will be a psycho-mystery thriller laced with lots of surprises and twists.”
Having cited that the film is a psycho-mystery thriller, does it involve a series of events like serial killings? Ask filmmaker Adhik Ravichandran and he says, “All that I can say for now is that we have attempted something different and believe that audiences too will experience a beam of freshness as they watch it on the big screens,” and smilingly continues, “I don’t want to spill the beans and become a spoiler. All that I can assure for now is that Prabhu Deva sir’s onscreen avatar will be far different and phenomenal from what he has done in his erstwhile movies.”
R.V. Bharathan, BA.BL is producing this film with S.V.R Ravi Shankar co-producing Amyra Dastur (Anegan fame) plays the female lead role. With the postproduction work going on full swing, the details about others in the star-cast will be revealed soon. Debutant Ganesan Sekar is composing music for this film and Abinandhan Ramanujam is handling cinematography.
