Other actors should follow Vijay Sethupathi’s example and emulate him! – says producer Kayyar
Producer Kayyar speaking during the audio launch of Alaiye Alaiye, said that other actors should follow in the example set by actor Vijay Sethupathi.
Produced by Vedha Nayaki films in conjunction with A.R.Murugan and C.Jawahar Pazhaniyappan, Alaiye Alaiye would be director G.Manikandakumar’s debutant venture. The film that stars Ranjith of Maanada Mayilaada fame opposite to actress Ankitha Nayana had its audio launch in Chennai’s R.K.V studios.
With V.C.Gughanathan as the Chief Guest, the audio was released in the presence of Tamil Film Producers Council secretaries T.Siva and Gnanavel Raja. The first set of audio was unveiled by Kayar which was received by actor Vijay Sethupathi and composer Imman. Speaking at the function, Kayar said “Vijay Sethupathi is a true artiste among the contemporary actors of Tamil cinema; Vijay Sethupathi’s natural talent makes him one of my favourite actors to watch. Nowadays, actors are not attending programmes that are meant to promote their films; major actors even refuse to come to the audio launches of their own films. In such an environment, Vijay Sethupathi obliging to grace us with his presence for events that don’t have to do anything with his film has to be commended. His selfless action that helps and promotes other’s films has to be recognized and celebrated. Other actors should take a page from his actions and emulate him.
Another actor who selflessly promotes other’s films would be Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan who treats all movies – be it big budget or smaller productions, with equality. His actions prove to be a big boon for upcoming films and film makers. Actor Surya is another one that comes to mind who indulges in such works.
These days, the big stars do not pay heed to and refrain from attending audio launches. Their managers are also partially to blame in this as they fail to elucidate the importance of such events to the stars that they manage.
Getting into films was taboo a long time ago. Today however, the situation has changed drastically, as people from all walks of life, such as Pilots, Doctors, NRIs, software engineers, etc, vie for a chance to act in a Tamil movie. While this is joyous news indeed, last year, out of 364 films that were made, only 164 were released. The revenues collected by cinema theatres for the past few months have drastically reduced. For example, a movie that was released recently had a nearly no-show opening, which prompted the theatre manager to call up the producer and ask him whether he could pull the film from the showtimes. When the producer further inquired, he found out that the two people who attended the the show ended up being his own people who had gone to inspect the theatre!
I’m cautiously optimistic about the explosion of the number of movies that are being made. Last year alone, over 180 artistes made their on-screen debut. Several new satellite channels have popped up recently and the majority of them depend on broadcasting movies on their channels for revenue. However, these channels do not pay heed to the smaller movies and often only go for the big budget flicks. I request that these channels pay more attention to the smaller films and help in their promotion.”
Producer’s guild vice president Jaguar Thangam had the following to say during the function “Alaye Alaye is a beautiful title for a movie. Any Tamil movie title should be in Tamil and that should be the first detail anybody has to look at when watching a Tamil film.”
V.C.Gughanathan said “ Jaguar Thangam talked about the importance of Tamil titles for Tamil movies. I’ve written over 45 films for A.V.M and every time, A.V.M Chettiar will request me to start the first line of dialogues with the Tamil letter ‘அ’ . The hero looks like a youth off-screen, but on-screen though is a different story, he looks like a screen tested veteran in the likes of MGR and Sivaji, who while being 5’7”, looked like giants. A lot of people relate people of the Tamil Eelam to having downtrodden faces. I’m a person of the Tamil Eelam and I can say with confidence that a Tamilian’s face is not sad, but proud! There have been hundreds of films about the French revolution; I challenge you, take a movie about the struggle in the Eelam and you’d have enough material for a thousand films!”
Gnanvelraja had the following to say “The producer council has implemented several safety nets and safeguards for producers who are willing to help create quality films. We are bringing out programs that would subsidies costs of advertising for movies, and we are confident and would stand by the makers of this film and wish for its success.”
Siva said “We have completed the trials and tribulations that were hindering the progress of Tamil films and the Tamil people. We have also been able to work through some of the difficulties that were put in place by some disruptive elements. We have weathered the storm and broken out of the bonds that were holding us back, and from now on we look forward to smooth sailing. From April onwards, we expect a lot of new programs to be set in place for the well-being of the cinema industry in collaboration with the other associations.”
Cheenu Ramaswamy said “I heartily welcome the new breed of producers that have come to Tamil cinemas. A lot of the recent movies that were lauded for their quality have been produced by debutants.”
In his welcoming speech, producer A.R.Murugan said “I’m relatively new to the cinema industry. The Vedha Nayagi Company has interests in multiple areas. We believe that anything we do should be done with perfection. In this vein, to know as much as I can about the inner workings of movies, I worked as a production boy at a production house.”
The inauguration was attended by actor Vijay Sethupathi, composer Imman, directors Eureka, Rattinam K.S.Thangaswamy, Krithika Udhayanidhi’s mother Jyothi Ramaswamy, and Alaye Alaye movie director G.Manikantakumar who all gave a talk during the event. The event was concluded by Producer C.Jawahar Pazhaniyappan.

நாயகனாக ‘மானாட மயிலாட’புகழ் ரஞ்சித்தும், நாயகியாக அங்கீதா நயனாவும் நடித்துள்ளார்கள் இப்படத்தின் இசை வெளியீட்டு விழா இன்று சென்னை ஆர்.கே.வி. ஸ்டுடியோவில் நடந்தது.

கேயார் பேசும் போது, ” இன்று இந்தப்பட விழாவில் விஜய் சேதுபதி கலந்து கொண்டிருந்திருக்கிறார்.விஜய் சேதுபதி யதார்த்தமான நடிகர். இப்போதுள்ள நடிகர்களில் இயல்பான நடிப்பில் விஜய் சேதுபதியை எனக்குப் பிடிக்கும்.
இன்று தங்கள் படங்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட நிகழ்ச்சிகளுக்கே நடிகர்கள் வரத் தயங்குகிறார்கள். பல பெரிய நட்சத்திரங்கள் ஆடியோ வெளியீட்டுக்கு வருவதில்லை.
அப்படி இருக்கும் போது இவர் தான் சம்பந்தப் படாத நிகழ்ச்சிகளுக்கும் வந்து கலந்து கொள்வது வாழ்த்துவது பாராட்டுக்குரியது.
இன்னொரு படத்து ப்ரமோஷனுக்கு வந்திருந்து அவர் பெருந்தன்மையுடன் உதவுவதை வரவேற்க வேண்டும். இதை மற்ற நட்சத்திர நடிகர்களும் பின்பற்ற வேண்டும்.
இந்த விஷயத்தில் உலக நாயகன் கமல் அவர்களும் இப்படி மற்றவர் படங்களின் ப்ரமோஷனுக்கு வருகிறார்கள்;வாழ்த்துகிறார்கள் சின்னபடம் பெரிய படம் என்று பார்க்காமல் முறையாக அழைப்பு விடுத்தால் கமல் வந்து வாழ்த்துகிறார். அது அந்தப்படத்துக்கு எவ்வளவு பெரிய விளம்பரம் தெரியுமா? இது எவ்வளவு பெரிய உதவி தெரியுமா?அதே போல சகோதரர் சூர்யா அவர்களும் வருவது பாராட்டுக்குரியது.
இன்று பெரிய நடிகர்கள் நட்சத்திரங்கள் ஆடியோ வெளியீட்டு நிகழ்ச்சிகளை மதிப்பதே இல்லை அதற்கு அவர்களது மேனேஜர்கள் குறுக்கே நிற்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள்கூட இப்படி தவறான வழிகாட்டுகிறார்கள்.
இன்று நிறைய தொழிலதிபர்கள் சினிமாவுக்கு வருவது வரவேற்கத்தக்கது. ஜெட் ஏர்வேய்ஸில் பைலட் டாக இருப்பவர்கள் கூட சினிமாவுக்கு வந்திருக்கிறார்கள். டாக்டர்ஸ்சினிமாவுக்கு வந்திருக்கிறார்கள்., என்.ஆர்.ஐ வந்திருக்கிறார்கள்., சாப்ட்வேர் இன்ஜினியர்ஸ் எல்லாம் வருகிறார்கள். ஒரு காலத்தில் சினிமா என்றால் கேவலமாக நினைத்தது இன்று நிலைமை மாறி இருப்பது மகிழ்ச்சி. அதே நேரம் சென்ற ஆண்டு 164 படங்கள் வந்தன. 200 படங்கள் வெளிவர முடியாமல் கிடக்கின்றன.
கடந்த நாலைந்து மாதங்களில் தியேட்டர் வசூல் மிக மோசமாக இருக்கிறது. சமீபத்தில் ஒரு தயாரிப்பாளர் படத்தை வெளியிட்டார். அந்த தயாரிப்பாளருக்கு வெளியான முதல் நாளே தியேட்டர் மேனேஜர் போன் செய்தார். ‘சார் முதல் நாள் முதல் காட்சிக்கு இரண்டே பேர்தான் வந்திருக்கிறார்கள். காட்சியை நிறுத்தட்டுமா ஓட்டட்டுமா’ என்றிருக்கிறார்.
தியேட்டருக்கு போன தயாரிப்பாளரின்’ ரெப்’ போன் செய்திருக்கிறார். ‘தியேட்டரில் படம் பார்க்க ஒரு ஆள் கூட இல்லை’ என்று. அப்போது தயாரிப்பாளர் கேட்டாராம் ‘இரண்டுபேர் இருப்பதாக இப்போது மேனேஜர் சொன்னாரே’ என்று. ‘அவர் சொல்லியிருக்கும் அந்த இரண்டு பேர் நாங்கள்தான்’ என்றாராம் ரெப். இப்படி இருக்கிறது இன்றைய நிலைமை.
இப்போது நிறைய படங்கள் வருவதைப் பார்த்து மகிழ்ச்சி அடைவதா என்று தெரியவில்லை. சென்ற ஆண்டு 180பேர் அறிமுகமாகி இருக்கிறார்கள். எத்தனைபேர் மேலே வந்திருக்கிறார்கள். இந்த எண்ணிக்கையை நினைத்து பாராட்டுவதா பயப்படுவதா தெரியவில்லை.
சேட்டிலைட் சேனல்கள் சின்ன படங்களைக் கண்டு கொள்வதில்லை. சின்ன படங்களை வரவேற்பதில்லை. இன்று இத்தனை சேனல்கள் வந்திருக்கின்றன. வளர்ந்திருக்கின்றன. இவை எல்லாமே சினிமாவைப் பின்னணியாக வைத்துதான் வளர்ந்திருக்கின்றன.
ஆனால் அவர்கள் சின்ன படங்களை கவனிப்பதில்லை. அவர்கள் எல்லாருமே சிறுபடங்களை ஆதரிக்க வேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறேன். ” இவ்வாறு கேயார் பேசினார்.
தயாரிப்பாளர் கில்டு துணைத்தலைவர் ஜாக்குவார் தங்கம் பேசும்போது “‘அலையே..அலையே’ படம் நல்ல தமிழ்ப் பெயராக உள்ளது. ஆயிரம் இருக்கலாம் தமிழ்நாட்டில். ஆனால் தமிழ் ரசிகர்களுக்காக உருவாகும் படங்களின் பெயர் தமிழில்தான் இருக்க வேண்டும். முதலில் பெயரை தமிழில் வையுங்கள் மற்றதை எந்த மொழியிலாவது போட்டுக்கொள்ளுங்கள். அது செய்ய வில்லை என்றால் களத்தில் இறங்கிப் போராடுவேன்.வாழ்க தமிழ்.வெல்க தமிழ். ” என்றார்.
முன்னாள் பெப்ஸி தலைவரும் இயக்குநருமான வி.சி.குகநாதன் பேசும் போது “தமிழில் பெயர் வைப்பதைப் பற்றி ஜாக்குவார் சொன்னார். நான் ஏவி எம். நிறுவனத்துக்கு 45 படங்களுக்கு எழுதி இருக்கிறேன் ‘ராஜபார்ட் ராங்கதுரை’ முதல் ‘மின்சாரக் கண்ணா’ வரை எழுதி இருக்கிறேன் ஏவிஎம் செட்டியார் அவர்கள் முதல் காட்சியில் முதல் வசனத்தை தமிழில் ‘அ’ வில் தொடங்கும்படிதான் எழுதச் சொல்வார்.
இந்த நாயகனைப் பார்த்தால் சிறிய பையனாகத் தெரிகிறது. படத்தில் பெரிதாகத் தெரிகிறார். படங்களில் பிரமாண்டமாகத் தெரிந்த நாயகர்கள் எம்.ஜி.ஆர், சிவாஜி இருவருமே 5 அடி 7 அங்குலம் கொண்டவர்கள்தான்.
இங்கே ஈழ முகம் சோகமுகம் என்று யாரோ சொன்னார்கள். நானும் ஈழத்தைத் சேர்ந்தவன் என்ற முறையில் சொல்கிறேன். ஈழ முகம் சோகமுகமல்ல வீர முகம். என்று கூறுவேன். பிரெஞ்சுப் புரட்சிபற்றி 100 படங்கள் வந்துள்ளன. ஈழத்துத் பிரச்சினை பற்றிய கதையை எடுங்கள் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான கதைகள் உள்ளன.” என்றார்.
தயாரிப்பாளர் சங்கப் பொருளாளர் கே.ஈ ஞானவேல் ராஜா பேசும்போது ” நம்பிக்கைக் குரிய நல்ல படங்கள் அதன் தயாரிப்பாளர்கள் வெற்றி பெற அவர்களைப் பாதுகாக்க தயாரிப்பாளர் சங்கம் பல நல்ல வழிகளைக் கண்டுள்ளது. விளம்பரச் செலவுகளைக் கட்டுப் படுத்தும் திட்டம் விரைவில் செயலுக்கு வரவுள்ளது. இப்படம் நிச்சயம் காப்பாற்றப் படும். வெற்றி பெற தயாரிப்பாளர் சங்கம் துணை நிற்கும்.” என்றார்.
தயாரிப்பாளர் சங்கச்செயலாளர் டி.சிவா பேசும்போது ” தமிழர்களுக்கான வழக்குகள் முடிவுக்கு வந்துவிட்டன. தமிழ் தயாரிப்பாளர் சங்க வழக்குகளும் முடிந்து விட்டன.
நம்மை எதுவும் செய்ய விடாமல் குறுக்கே நின்று சிலர் முட்டுக்கட்டை போட்டுக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள் அவர்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட வழக்கு எல்லாம் முடிந்து விட்டது.
இப்போது சனி விலகிய உணர்வு நமக்கு ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. நம்மைப் பிடித்த சனி தொலைந்து விட்டது. ஏப்ரல் மாதம் முதல் நல்லவை பல நடக்கும். இதற்கு அனைத்து சங்கங்களும் துணைநிற்கும்.” என்றார்.

இயக்குநர் சீனுராமசாமி பேசும் போது ” இந்த புதிய தயாரிப்பாளர்களை வரவேற்கிறேன். தமிழ் சினிமாவில் பேசப்பட்ட புகழ்பெற்ற நல்லநல்ல படங்களை எல்லாம் எடுத்தவர்கள் எல்லாருமே சினிமாவே தெரியாத புதிய தயாரிப்பாளர்கள்தான்.” என்றார்.
தன் வரவேற்புரையில் தயாரிப்பாளர் ஏ.ஆர்.முருகன் ” சினிமாவுக்குப் புதியவன் நான். எங்கள் வேத நாயகி நிறுவனம் வேறுபல தொழில்களை செய்து வருகிறது. எதையும் சரியாகச் செய்ய வேண்டும். என்ற எண்ணத்தில்,.சினிமா பற்றி முழுமையாகத் தெரிந்து கொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று நான் ஒரு சினிமா கம்பெனியில் புரொடக்ஷன் பாயாக சில மாதம் வேலை பார்த்தேன். என்றார்
